Why have I created a Phonics Classroom?
I have always loved teaching phonics! During Lockdown I delivered live phonics lessons every morning and it was fantastic!
Our youngest son, Freddie, is in Reception. He started school in September and I knew I wanted to support him with his phonics sounds.
I have realised already that the sounds don't come so easily to him and I want to support him at home because being a teacher, I appreciate how fundamental the fundamentals are!
Phonics really is your child's reading foundation. It is so important to get these phonics sounds learnt, which in turn will make their reading journey easier for them.

Katie's phonics videos are both dyslexic-friendly and child-friendly. Each video is approximately 5 to 10 minutes long. I teach each sound in a really clear and simple way. All my videos are fun and engaging.

Every phonics video Katie has recorded has a lesson number and I would encourage you to simply go through the lessons in order. For example, watch Lesson 1 first, then Lesson 2, then Lesson 3 etc. This will ensure that your child is learning their sounds and letters in a beneficial order. There is also a ‘learning pathway’ within your account which will tell you which videos you have watched.
